1) Insurance is not a solution. As long as you are healthy, insurance companies are happy to receive your premium. Once you get seriously ill, don’t count on insurance..you are on your own. Insurance is only for healthy and wealthy.
2) Hospitals are miserable when it comes to billing. Why don’t they publish their rates for every procedure? If they do, they can not continue their shady practice of billing at super-inflated rates. Why the heck they should bill the patient 10-20 times more than what they accept from insurance or Medicare.
Insurance companies and hospitals are nothing but one group of ‘fraudsters’.
Let the Govt provide basic health service, just like basic education. Private ‘open market’ has not worked and will not work; just see what happened to housing nightmare, Govt had to bail out Bear Stearns.

Lynn is right on. Insurance is the problem. Also, ‘private open market’ will not work in healthcare. In this world of corporate greed, private open market will only care about their own profit and not your health. Govt must provide healthcare, after all thats what is happening in all other developed countries and thats why they are not in crisis.
